Maryland Handgun Qualification License
This course meets the requirements for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (MD HQL), required to purchase a handgun in the state of Maryland. Upon successful completion of this course, students will obtain a training certification and will be eligible to apply for a MD HQL.

Course Description:

The Instructional portion of this course will consist of learning firearms safety requirements, different types of pistol actions, pistol parts, and fundamentals of shooting a firearm. You will also learn about Maryland laws pertaining to firearms and self-defense.
​
The Hands-on portion will consist of a demonstration of pistol disassembly, reassembly, and cleaning. Additionally, you will practice range safety and efficient shooting procedures.

**There are NO prerequisites to this training. **

LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate
Attention: If you have a Maryland Medical Marijuana Card, you are ineligible to receive a Handgun Qualification License (HQL) in the State of Maryland.
