HOW YOUR PERMIT KEEPS YOU CONNECTED

Maryland resident handgun permits may have reciprocity with certain other states, but it is essential to verify and comply with each state's specific firearms laws when traveling.

MARYLAND RECIPROCITY

Twenty-six states in the United States recognize and honor handgun permits issued by Maryland; however, Maryland does not recognize handgun permits issued by other states. This means that individuals with a valid Maryland handgun permit can legally carry their firearm in these states, subject to each state's laws and regulations regarding concealed or open carry. This reciprocity helps streamline travel and ensure legal compliance for Maryland permit holders when they cross state lines. However, it is crucial for permit holders to be aware of and adhere to the specific firearm laws of each state they visit, as regulations can vary significantly from one state to another.

Sentinel also offers additional training that satisfies non-resident conceal carry requirements for Floridia and Pennsylvania. Learn more by visiting our "Add-On Services" page.
